Role Models 9/10

Role Models

A clever comedy, not seen too often in today’s society, Role Model’s easily falls toward the top of my list.  With lessons about life, love, and heavy metal this movie will keep you laughing. I find the story to be excellent and to a degree inspiring.  The story teaches life lessons that in many comedies are unheard of.  Being yourself and expressing your emotions is a theme that keeps the story interesting. The story is about two middle aged slackers, Danny(Paul Rudd) and Wheeler (Seann William Scott),  and there forced volunteering at a big brother organization (Sturdy Wings) due to trouble with the law. Danny and Wheeler must watch two kids, a bad mouthed rascal and a larping freak, in order to avoid jail. Along the way they learn the valuable lessons mentioned above. Just because this movie teaches valuable lessons doesn't make it a must see for children. Due to foul language, suggestive themes, and inappropriate humor I don’t recommend those under 17 to watch it, neither does the Film Association due to the R rating. I give this movie a 9/10.

Tommy Boy 7.5/10

Tommy Boy

David Spade and Chris Farley (May he rest in peace) prove to the world that they can be comedy greats with this hilarious movie. I laughed, I cried, and I laughed some more through this movie.  The story is original and keeps your attention the entire time.  The movie is about Tommy, the son of a car part factory owner, and his return home to find his father getting married and the family company falling apart. Due to unforeseen circumstances Tommy must take a business trip to save the company accompanied by David Spade’s character. Along the way he learns the value of friendship I would have to give this movie a 7.5/10.

Talladega Nights 7/10

Talladega Nights

A movie many are familiar with, Will Ferrell delivers another American “masterpiece”. Crude humor, idiotic catchphrases, and suggestive themes make this a great choice for those who want to let go and laugh their @$$ off or for those who are teenage boys. This is not necessarily a bad thing I, myself, quite enjoy this movie as well as own it. The story is certainly unique and never done before. Featuring fast jokes, fast cars, and faster women the story revolves around the trials of “legendary” race car driver Ricky Bobby (Will Ferrell). In the movie Ricky must face classic betrayal, father issues, and his own fear. Not only is this a funny movie but a great late night buddy movie I give this movie a 7/10.

Sixteen Candles 9/10

Sixteen Candles

I’m taking you back to 80’s with this movie. Another masterpiece from legendary director John Hughes (Breakfast Club, Weird Science). This is one of the best romantic comedies ever, combining a great story of the trials and tribulations of high school with a romantic story that would make the darkest of hearts swell with emotion. The story focuses on Samantha Baker (Molly Ringwald) whose parents forget about her 16th birthday because of her sister’s wedding and her high school crush doesn't even now she exists. For those who wish to sit inside with the curtains closed eating a pint of ice cream I highly recommend it. I would advise seeing the movie at least once because I believe it to be part of American culture. I give this a 9/10.

The internship 10/10

The Internship

Another riveting success from actors Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson (also stars in the hit comedy Wedding Crashes – perhaps to be featured in later posts). This movie combines comedy with the uniqueness of Google. The story is about too “old dogs” who were just laid off from their sales job and take an internship at the one and only Google headquarters. Like everything at Google, this isn't just your normal internship but a battle royal between teams of interns for jobs. The story is well written and hilarious. I found myself bursting with laughter nonstop. I would recommend to any adult with a sense of humor but would advise watching the pg-13 version unless you like some vulgar humor. In all I would give this a 10/10 a phenomenal work of human ingenious.

See No Evil Hear No Evil 11.5/10

See No Evil Hear No Evil

One of the greatest movies of all time. This gut busting, laughter causing collaboration of Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor, some of the funniest actors of all time, is a must see. At times it can be inappropriate for a younger audience, but despite this factor is still hilarious. the story is unique and original causing many funny situations. Pryor plays a blind man and Wilder a deft man, that through a series of small events, come to work together. while working one day they witness a crime. Wilder saw only the legs of the killer but heard nothing while Pryor heard the killing. The story goes through there adventure trying to solve the crime and clear there names. All in all I give this movie a 11/10.

Dodge Ball 9/10

DodgeBall

I cant say much about this movie it is just good. A funny cast and story make this a much watch. the story is about a slacking gym owner(Vince Vaughn) and his quest to save his gym( Average Joe's) from his competition ( Globo Gym) and there owner White(Ben Stiller) . the story goes through the misadventure of how Average Joe's must win a dodge ball competition to win $50,000 dollars to save the gym.
